Otsego County COC Holds Awards Dinner On Mayt 24

The Otsego County Chamber of Commerce will present community awartds at its Annual Spring Dinner on May 24 at SUNY Oneonta’s Dewar Arena Field House. It will honor those who have given back to their communities and have enhanced the overall “Quality of Place” in Otsego County.

DEC Announces Release of First Sustainability Plan

The public is invited to browse items donated by SUNY Oneonta’s annual Move-Out Donation and Reuse collection during a free sale Tuesday, May 23, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Otsego ReUse Center on Duane St. in Oneonta. Park at the store’s West Broadway locatio.

Rabid Skunk Found In Deposit

A skunk tested positive for rabies in the Village of Deposit. An unvaccinated dog and one person were exposed to the rabid skunk. The dog was humanely euthanized. The individual is undergoing post-exposure treatment. To report a suspected rabid animal call Delaware County Public Health Services.

Traffic Stop Turns Into Drug Bust

A traffic stop in Unadilla leads to a drug bust. Sheriff’s deputies found a man was in possession of Methamphetamine and fentanyl. The man was arrested, and put on a pre-arraignment hold at the Otsego County Correctional Facility.

Hanford Mills Museum Reopens Next Wednesday

Hanford Mills Museum beins its 50th season next Wednesday. The museum’s staff have worked on several projects to prepare for welcoming visitors back. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays through Oct. 15.

Deposit RSO Charged For Not Updating Address

A registered sex offender from Deposit is charged with not updating his new address. According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office the man was located in the Village of Unadilla. He was booked then released pending a Town of Deposit court date.

State Agency Overtime Costs Hit An All-Time High

An audit by State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office finds overtime costs at state agencies last year rose 47.2% to more than $1.36 billion, setting a new record. Overtime hours increased 11.1% and overtime earnings comprised 7.5% of total payroll spending.
