A fire damaged a Norwich apartment on Monday. Firefights respionding to the t Peacock Manor Apartments encountered heavy smoke on the first floor and got the fire out in short order. 2 people were hospitalized for smoke inhalation but no other injuries were reported.

Davenport Man Sentenced On Child Sex Abuse Charges

It’s 20 years behind bars for a Davenport man convicted on child sex abuse charges. Prosecutors say Jeremie G. Hoytengaged in at least two acts of sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13. After the sentence is completed Hoyt will be 10 years of post-release supervision.

Oneonta Police ask residents to refrain from blowing lawn clippings into the roadway. State law prohibits any substance that is likely to cause injury from being placed on a roadway. Blowing grass on the road creates a serious threat to anyone riding a motorcycle, moped, or bicycle.

A man from Schoharie is charged with Grand Larceny for stealing a car. State Police say they were called to a Cobleskill home on reports of an unwanted guest and that’s where they found the man and the stolen car.

Chenango County Man Sentenced In Road Rage Incident

It’s 4 years behing bars for a Chenango County man who pleaded guilty to assault charges in a Fenton road rage incident Prosecutors say Michael G. Seman admittined he stabbed a teen in the leg during an altercation last October. Seaman will also be on five years of post-release supervision.

Oneonta Receives RestoreNY Grant

Pathfinder Village’s 10th annual Splash Path 5k and Fun Walk achieved a new fundraising milestone raising $30,000. The money supports the Pathfinder Produce Mobile Market and vocational programs for adults with intellectual disabilities. The event was held last Saturday.
