Road Work To Close State Route 10

A heads up if you use State Route 10 in Jefferson. Beginning in about a month the state DOT is closing the road for a culvert replacement. A signed detour will be in place. The work is expected to take 10 weeks.

Man Arrested For Breaking Into Jefferson Home

Bail is set at $2,000 cash or $4,000 bond for a man who broke into a Jefferson home violating an order of protection. Police say the man was waiting at the victim’s home for them to return then fled after the arrived. The man was apprehended on Monday and booked.

Hobart Man Charged With Welfare Fraud

Charges are brought in a Delaware County welfare fraud investigation. Prosecutors say a man from Hobart is accused of failing to accurately state his gross annual income on public assistance benefits receive public assistance to which he was not entitled. He pleaded not guilty and was released.

Man Charged With Stealing & Selling Trailer

A man is charged with stealing a dump trailer from a Hasrtwick residence. Police say the man who is from Waterford sold the trailer via social medial and it was recovered in the City of Troy. The trailer was returned to the owner.
