The City of Oneonta will be resuming downtown parking enforcement of time-limited spaces, in accordance with posted signs, on Wednesday, June 14th. Downtown residents, business owners, and commuters are encouraged to park in all-day / 24-hour parking spaces.

The City of Oneonta will be resuming downtown parking enforcement of time-limited spaces on Wednesday. Downtown residents, business owners, and commuters are encouraged to park in all-day / 24-hour parking spaces. The City will be painting additional on-street, all-day parking spaces along Market St and Chestnut St Extension.

NYSP Seek HF Engine Thieves

State Police are looking for a pair of men who stole a GHOST Kart Racing Engine from Harbor Freight in Oneonta. Investigators say the men walked around the store before grabbing the item and leaving through an emergency exit door. Photos are on the State Police Facebook page.

Tips Sought To Catch Walmart Larceny Suspect

State Police seek tips to catch the suspect who left Walmart in Oneonta on April 4 with a cart full of items she never paid for. Over $550 dollars in merchandise was taken. She got away in a 2021 Chevrolet Spark with an out of state license plate.

Man Critically Injured In Cooperstown Accident

A man suffers life-threeatening injuries when he was hit by a driver last Thursday on Lake Street in Cooperstown. Police say the man suffered serious head trauma and was found unconscious in the street. He was airlifted to Albany Medical Center. The driver remained at the scene.

Oneonta Residents Arrested In Richmondville Burglaries

Two prople from Oneonta are apprehended in a string of Schoharie County storage unit burglaries. State Police say the 2 were living in a Richmondville storage unit on the property and possessed burglar’s tools, drugs, and other items that did not belong to them. Both are now in jail pending arraignment.

Walton Man Arraigned On Drug Charges

A man from Walton is arraigned fron an indictment om drug charges. According to acting Delaware County District Attorney Shawn Smith the man possessed fentanyl with intention to sell it. The man was released but must check in with a probation officer.

DelCo SO To Observe World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

On June 15th The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office will join the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day observance. It provides an opportunity for communities to promote a better understanding of abuse and neglect of older persons and acknowledgs the significance of elder abuse as a public health and human rights issue.

County museum plans Path Through History celebration

The Chenango County Historical Society is participating in the state-wide “Path Through History” weekend on June 18. The museum is open that day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Beginning at 2:30 p.m., the “Signs of the Times: Flavors of Yesterday” exhibition will be unveiled in the Loomis Barn.

DEC Offering Water Quality Improvement Grants
