NYSP Unveils Click It Or Ticket Results

State Police issued over 38,000 tickets during the National “Click It or Ticket” enforcement campaign between May 22 and June 4. Police utilized sobriety checkpoints, additional DWI patrols, and ticketed distracted drivers who used handheld electronic devices. Troopers also investigated more than 2,400 crashes with two being fatal.

Adams Sues Counties Over Migrant Ban

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is suing Otsego, Deleware, Schoharie and 27 other counties that issued orders preventing the bussing of undcumented immigrants seeking asylum. The suit claims the counties are banning having migrants stay at hotels even tholugh New York is covering exlenses.

Bassett Partnering With Hartwick College For Employee Tuition Discounts

Bassett Healthcare Network is partnering with Hartwick College to provide Bassett employees pursing nursing with tuition discounts. Hartwick’s Master of Science in Nursing Education, Certificate of Advanced Study in Nursing Education, and Accelerated BS in Nursing will be available to Bassett employees at a 30% tuition discount.

SQSPCA Holds Fundraiser

On Thursday the Susquehanna SPCA held its first fundraiser of the year at the Otesaga in Cooperstown. The fundraiser was also a fashion show with area retailers modeling their items. They also pledged to donate a portion of their future sales to the organization.

Former BHOF President Ed Stack Dies

Former Baseball Hall of Fame President Ed Stack has died at the age of 88. He succeeded Paul S. Kerr as president in 1977 then became a board member in 1993 . Stack led three renovation/expansion programs during his time as president.

Fire Damages Plainfield Home

Multiple fire companies respoinded Tuesday to a garage fire at a Plainfield residence. According to authorities the fire spread to the Route 20 home. A resident made it out safely No injuries were reported. The fire’s cause is under investigation.

Morris Woman Arrested In Landlord Dispute

A woman from Morris is taken into custody after getting into a dispute with her landlord. Police say an investigation determined she broke two windows of the residence she is renting. The woman was booked then released pending a Morris Town Court appearance.

Car Seat Safety Check Today In Oneonta

Triple-A is holding achild safety seat check today in Oneonta at 762 Route 28 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Certified technicians will be on site to check for proper seat installation and if the seat meets current requirements. Appointments are not required.
