A driver pulled over in the Town of Plymouth for speeding gets hauled off to jail after State Troopers determine he was driving a stolen car. The man who is from Cernon is charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property. He is due in Town of Plymouth court later next month.

A fire destroyed a barn in Oxford last Friday. The Oxford Fire Department was assisted by other area fire companies and a silo was destroyed but another was saved. No injuries were reported and the fire’s cause is under investigation.
Delaware County Undersheriff Kim Smith was one of forty-five Undersheriffs attending the New York State Sheriffs’ Association training conference, held in Saratoga Springs. Training in recent law enforcement updates and advances was offered along with a forum to discuss current law enforcement issues and share best practices.

Acting Delaware County District Attorney Shawn Smith will be on the November ballot after defeating attorney Joe Ermeti in Tuesday’s Republican primary election. Other Delaware County results and some in Otsego County’s were too close to call as of Tuesday evening.
A domestic domestic dispute in Norwich results in a man facing multiple charges. Police say the man from Otsego County assaulted and choked a woman during the dispute. The man was jailed on $150,000 cash bail.
