CPD-SCSO Merger Study Under Way

A study is under way on a potential merger of the Cobleskill Police and the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office. According to the Cobleskill Times-Journal the county Board of Supervisors hired a firm to conduct the study as both departments are dealing with a manpower shortasge and a merger may offer significant cost savings.

Driver Arrested After Running Out Of Gas

A driver who ran out of gas in Middletown ends up in jail for possessing a stolen vehicle. State Police say the man also possessed illegal drugs. He was booked then released on his lwn recognizance pending a future court appearance.

Coventry Woman Jailed For B&E Into A Vehicle

A woman from Coventry is jailed without bail for breaking into a vehicle and stealing items including a pistol. State Police say it happened at a State Highway 206 residence in the town of Coventry. The woman also trespassed on several properties in the area.

There’s a new superintendent and chief executive officer at Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES. According to a news release Donald Shepardson is to be appointed when the BOCES board meets next month with an anticipated start date of October 1. DMV Continues To Roll Out New Inspection System

The Department of Motor Vehicles continues to roll out its new inspection sticker system. The new stickers contain the vehicle identification number and mileage information in irder to combact sticker counterfeiting. More than 100,000 inspections have been conducted so far under the new system.

Free Cancer Screening Today In Middleburgh

The Mobile Cancer Screening Coach will be at 109 Baker Ave. in Middleburg today from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. to provide no cost mammograms and Pap tests to women 40 and over who don’t have insurance. Those with insurance are also urged to participate.
