Omicron COVID-19 Variant Confirmed In NY

Governor Kathy Hochul confirmed there are five cases of the Omicron COVID-19 variant in New York. Other reported cases are in California, Colorado and Minnesota. Hochul posted on social media that residents should get vaccinated, get booster shots and be sure to wear a mask. A state of emergency was declared last Friday. The Schenevus Central School district and the Worcester Central School district will not be merging after Schenevus voters rejected it this week. According to All Otsego Worcester voters voted in favor of combining the 2 districts. Schenevus school officials could hold a re-vote within a year’s time.
