Gilbertsville Gets State No-Interest Loan For Drinking Water Upgrades

The Village of Gilbertsville receivesd $2.4 million in ng-term, interest-free state financing to upgrade its drinking water system. The money will replace water mains and a storage tank along with installing new service meters and construct a new treatment building. $33 million was awarded statewide for drinking water projects. NY Has New Laws To Protect Credit And Gift Card Holders

New York enacts 2 laws to protect credit and gift cart holders. One measure prohibits fees and expiration dates on gift cards and gift certificates while the other creates a grace period for the use of reward points after the closing of an account. DCMO BOCES Goes Into Lockdown After Threat On Social Media

Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego BOCES was the target of a social media threat last Friday. Officials say the Alan D. Pole Campus was placed on precautionary hold-in-place and all 16 Component Schools were also notified of the situation and the restricted access to the campus. Delaware County Records 80th COVID-19 Death

Delaware County Public Health reports an 80th person died from COVID-19 related complications. It’s not known if that individual was vaccinated. The county has 396 active COVID-19 cases with 6 people hospitalized and 451 in mandatory quarantine. Officials say nearly 80% of cases are in unvaccinated individuals. Multiple Fire Companies Respond To Oxford Apartment Building

Multiple fire companies responded to an Oxford apartment fire last Thursday. Authorities say it was at a Merchant St. building near the intersection with County Road 32 and that area was cut off to traffic while crews were on the scene. Graney Named BHOF Frick Award Recipient

The Baseball Hall Of Fame announced that Cleveland broadcaster Jack Graney is named the 2022 recipient of the Ford C. Frick Award, presented annually for excellence in broadcasting. He’ll be posthumously honored this summer in Cooperstown during the Hall of Fame Awards Presentation next July.
