Delaware County Records 81st COVID-19 Death

Delaware County Public Health reports an 81st person died from COVID-19 related complications. It’s not known if that individual was vaccinated. The county has nearly 300 active COVID-19 cases with 14 people hospitalized and over 480 in mandatory quarantine. Officials say nearly 80% of cases are in unvaccinated individuals. NYSED Accepting Teacher Of The Year Nominees

The state education department is accepting nominations and applications for the 2023 Tracher of the Year. A teacher may be initially nominated by any person within the school or community. “Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over” Starts Friday

New York’s annual “Drive Sober or get Pulled Over” holiday enforcement campaign kicks off this Friday and runs through New Year’s Day. It is sponsored by STOP-DWI with funding from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee. There are extra road patrols along with additional checkpoints to catch intoxicated drivers. New State Route 10 Bridge In Walton Is Now Open

Construction of a new bridge for State Route 10 over Pines Brook in the Town of Walton is now complete. According to the DOT the $1.8 million project replaced a a bridge originally built in 1915 with a modern, pre-cast concrete structure that is higher and longer. Agribusinesses Can Still Apply For The COVID-19 Pandemic Small Business Recovery Program

New York agricultural businesses wiith revenues up to $2.5 million can still apply for grants from the COVID-19 Pandemic Small Business Recovery Program. Eligible businesses mill need to show they are experiencing hardship due to the pandemic. The minimum award is $5.000 and the maximum is $15,000. Delaware County To Not Enforce State Mask Mandate

The Delaware County Board of Supervisors announces they will not enforce the newest state mask mandate that took effect on Monday.
