Unadilla OIS Under Investigation

State Police and the Attorney General’s Office are investigating a Unadilla officer-involved shooting Wednesday night that left a man dead. According to authorities it happened aftter troopers confronted the man wielding a knife who wouldn’t obey commands then went after a trooper. The man died after being hospitalized. RSO Facing 2 New Felony Charges

Sidney police apprehend a man for failing to register as a sex offender. An investigation determined the man said he lived in Sidney but resided in Unadilla. The man now faces 2 felony charges – one for failing to register and the other for lying about living in Sidney. UHS Delaware Valley Hospital announced that registered nurse Mandy Kilmer wins the Sally Dean Award for 2021. It was created in memory of registered nurse, Sally Dean, who treated her patients, their visitors and her co-workers with true dedication, commitment and compassion. Otsego County Jail Inmates Moved Due To Staffing Shortages

Staffing shortages at the Otsego County Correctional Facility result in some inmates being moved to other facilities. It affecs nearly a dozen prisoners from 2 of the jail’s 3 housing units. Bassett Birthing Center Marks 1,000 Baby

It’s been a busy year at Bassett Health Network’s Birthing Center where the 1,000th baby of 2021 was born last week. The boy’s parents are from Sherburne and he’s been named Jamison. Bassett Suspends ER Visitation

Bassett Healthcare Network suspends visitation in emergency departments until further notice due to the increase in COVID-19 cases. Officials say exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis for children and patients who need support people. The Cooperstown Medical Center along with A.O,. Angelino Obtains $25k For Libraries

122nd District State Assemblyman Joe Angelino announces $25,000 is allocated for 19 libraries in his district. One-fifth of that is going to the Sidney Memorial Public Library which will purchase new technology items such as virtual reality headsets and a 3D printer. NYSP Warns Of ‘Grandparent Scam’ Resurgence

State Police are alerting residents about a resurgence of the “grandparent scam” where a caller posing as a grandchild pleads for money to get out of jail or for some other urgent need.
