Oxford Gets Tree Planting Grant

The state Department of Environmental Conservation gives a $50,000 grant to the Village of Oxford for tree planting. Sidney Gets State Grant For Water Meters

The Village of Sidney gets a $480,000 state grant to install water meters equipped with advanced meter reading technology. NY Expands “Legacy Cities” Program

New York expands eligibility for its “Legacy Cities” program that assists community revitalization efforts and increases homeownership opportunities in concentrated neighborhoods. Hochul Lifts In-Person Property Tax Renewal Requirement

Governor Kathy Hochul issues an executive order allowing local governments to lift a property tax exemption in-person renewal requirement for low-income senior citizens and persons with disabilities. 2 More COVID-19 Deaths In Otsego County

The Otsego County Department of Public Health reports 2 people have died from COVID-19 related complications. It’s not known if either individual was vaccinated. There are now 95 COVID-19 related deaths with 74 of those occurring this year. The department reports 217 active COVID-19 cases with 17 people hospitalized. Norwich YMCA Offering Kidw Brograms During Winter Break

The Norwich YMCA is conducting kids programs during winter break. The activities include a swim session, arts and crafts plus time in the kid’s gym.
