The Susquehanna SPCA will host free rabies vaccination clincs once a month starting in March. New OPT Fares In Effect

New fares are in effect for Oneonta Public Transit. Adults are $1.50 while seniors 62 and older are a dollar. Students in grades K through 12 are 75 cents while kids under 5 ride free. NY Sports Betting Starts Saturday

Sports betteing in New York begins Saturday at 8:00 a.m. Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, FanDuel and Rush Street Interactive are approved to operate while the remaining five conditionally licensed Mobile Sports Wagering Operators will be approved on a rolling basis when requirements are met. NY Now Offers ‘I SKI’ License Plates

Skiing fanatics can now show their love of the sport on their license plates. The DMV unveiled the “I SKI” specialty plate on Thursday. Oneonta Assault Suspect Apprehended

State Police announced the man wanted in a town of Oneonta assault is now in custody. It happened at a State Route 23 hotel and investigators say the victim was injured by a machete-type knife during an argument. The man from Sidney now faces a felony charge. Motel 88 Fire Damages One Room

A fire broke out Thursday at Motel 88 on Chestnut Street in Oneonta. Firefighters found heavy flames coming from an unoccupied room and it was under control in about 30 minutes. There were no injuries. Worcester and Franklin fire departments assisted. The fire’s cause is under investigation.

DCPH Distributing COVID-19 Test Kits

Delaware County Public Health announces they have received a limited number of COVID-19 home test kits from the state and they are being distributed to town offices. Norwich Looks At Water Main Replacements

City of Norwich lawmakers are considering plans for replacing water mains in the downtown area. According to the Evening Sun the areas of South Broad Street and East Main Street have some sections dating back to the 1880s. Officials estimate the costs at $6.5 million.
