A State Supreme Court judge rules Gov. Kathy Hochul’s public areas mask mandate is unconstitutional. It went into effect last month and runs through Feb. 1. The suspect in a South New Berlin attempted robbery on Saturday is in custody. Police say the victim gave police the getaway car’s license number and they pulled the driver over in Norwich where the suspect was taken into custody and jailed without bail. State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office released an audit that found the Butternuts Town Board did not transparently plan and monitor the highway garage and salt shed capital project. The audit found the project exceeded maximym costs by over $372,000. Town officials say they will initiate corrective actions. The Otsego County Sheriff’s Marine and Recreation Patrol Division conducted a snowmobile check on Saturday at Lease Lot Road and Lum Hill Road Trail 7c in the Town of Decatur as a response to complaints there.
