A Norwich man is facing charges for breaking into an Earlville home and attacking a resident as they slept. Police say it happened last November and the 2 people knew each other. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries. The man was jailed on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond. Delaware County’s former Department of Social Services commissioner loses an appeal of her termination. A state appeals court ruled county officials were justified in firing Dana Scuderi-Hunter in 2019 after charging her with misconduct, insubordination, and child endangerment. There are now more than 400 microcredentialsto help everyone from current students to working professionals gain skills, knowledge, and experience that employers are looking for. State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office cited the Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego Board of Cooperative Educational Services for failing to follow purchasing policies & procedures. It affected closed to $50,000 in goods and $250,000 in services. BOCES officials agreed with DiNapoli’s recommendations and indicated they will take corrective action. State Police are investigating a fire at a Glbertsville home on Monday where a woman died. According to authorities the 64-year-old woman was found inside the Maple Street home. According to the Evening Dun the nonprofit is currently working on preparing their location at 24 East Main Street. It is modeled after the Oneonta and Delhi centers. The man arrested in the NBT Bank robbery in Oneonta now faces new charges. According to the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office while the the Oneonta man was behind bars he tried to contact an individual who had an order of protection against him.
