Today is the final day of operation for the Carlisle Post Office. According to the Cobleskill Times-Journal the office on Route 20 will be shut down as the Postal Service looks for a new location. New York now requires all stretch limousines to have seat belts at all passenger seating positions. The law was passed in response to the 2018 Schoharie limo crash that killed 20 people. Owners of limos altered prior to January 2021 have 2 years to get belts installed. The superintendent of the Andes Central School District is on paid leave after officials reported receiving several unspecified complaints. According to a notice on the District’s site one complaint is being investigated by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office. The process is expected to take several weeks. A man from Sidney faces a federal firearms charge from an investigation last summer by Sidney Police and the Department of Homeland Security. A search of the man’s home turned up numerous firearms, ammunition and firearm related parts. The man was held pending arraignment.
