Oneonta Mayor Mark Drnek says police will be increasing patrols on the Main Street walkway to the upper level of the garage due to an increase in illegal acivities that impair its use. Former Oneonta Mayor Douglas Brenner has died. Brenner also served as Oneonta Police Chief. According to Mayor Mark Drnek calling hours at Lewis Hurley Pietrobono Funeral Home in Oneonta are Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. An Otsego County jail inmate ends up in more trouble after trying to contact an individual with an order of protection against them. A man formerly from Sherburne will be in jail for 10 years on his guilty plea for possessing child pornography. Prosecutors say Matthew Bormann had 3,500 images and videos when a federal probation officer visited him on a prior conviction. Once out of jail Bormann will be on 15 years’ supervised release. St. Mary’s Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Cooperstown starts its annual Lenten Food Drive tomorrow. According to All Otsego the church wants to raise $5,000 by March 27. Delaware County Road Patrol Corporal Eric Alexander is promoted to Road Patrol Sergeant. He fills the vacancy left by Christopher Erwin who was recently promoted to Senior Investigator. A Town of Oxford collision results in a driver taken into custody after police find the individual had 2 active arrest warrants. The accident happened on Lyon Brook Road and the driver was ticketed for infractions related to the crash then turned over to Norwich authorities for the outstanding warrants.
