State Senator Peter Oberacker advanced an amendment to suspend the state gas tax until this September. A similar measure was voted down on the Senate floor. Oberacker also reaffirmed his opposition to a proposed 55-cent per gallon gas tax increase. Source: Press release

A man from Plymouth is charged for attempting to rape a teenage girl. According to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office the man was apprehended after arranging a meeting with the girl in Norwich.
