DelCo FDs Assist In Buffalo Cleanup

Delaware County fire departments send equipment and helpers to Erie County to help emergency crews assisting victims of a deadly winter storm. They are from the East Meredith/Pindars Corners, Stamford and Trout Creek fire departments and will be there for up to 3 days.

Hamden Man Charged With Menacing

A man from Hamden is charged with menacing from a Delaware County Sheriff’s investigation. Deputies determined he pushed the victim from behind, displayed an axe while verbally threatening to cause harm and then cut off the victim’s electrical supply. He was booked then released pending a future court date.

NY Enacts Pandemic Fraud Laws

New laws are enacted to crack down on pandemic fraud. It increases the award amounts given to individuals who report fraud related to a State of Emergency. Whistleblowers may be eligible to receive additional money if the fraud was perpetrated during a state of emergency.

Hamden Man Charged With Animal Cruelty

A man from Hamden is charged with animal cruelty resulting from a DFelaware County Sheriff’s investigation. Deputies found numerous animals were not being cared for, including a lack of water, food, and proper shelter. The owner was booked then released pending a future court date.

Applications Accepted For 2023 Excelsior Scholarship

Applications are now accepted for the 2023 Excelsior Scholarship. It allows eligible full-time students to attend a SUNY or CUNY two-year or four-year school. Maximum household income is $125,000 and there are other requirements. Visit esc.ny.gov for details.

Flu Cases Up In Chenango County

The Chenango County Health Department reports a lauge increase in flu cases. There’s been nearly 825 cases so far compared to around 570 in 2020. Officials encourage everyone 6 months and older to receive the flu vaccine as the season usually peaks in January.
