Walton Officer Cleared In 2021 Fatal Shooting

Attorney General Letitia James’ Office of Special Investigation announced a Walton police officer will not face charges in an October 2021 fatal shoting of Paul Weeden. He was shot when he refused to drop a gun he was pointing at the officer. The officer was not named in announcement.

CT Woman Charged In Schoharie County Investigation

A woman from Connecticut is charged in a State Police ID theft and larceny investigation in Schoharie County. Last May the woman opened a credit card im the victim’s name and also withdrew money from the victim’s bank account. She turned herself in last week.

Mackley Avenue Closed Today For Manhole Repair

Meckley Avenue in Oneonta is closed today from Depew Street to River Street while crews repair a sanitary sewer manhole. The road will be open to local traffic only. Officials ask drivers to obey flaggers and all temporary traffic control devices.

Festival of Lights Winners Announced

Hill City Celebrations, formerly known as First Night Oneonta announces the winners of the 2022 Festival of Lights. First prize went to Van’s Auto and NYCM Insurance wonm second prize. Third prize went to The Amish Barn Company. The winners were chosaen by Hill City Celebrations board members.

Visions FCU Building Oneonta Branch

Visions Federal Credit Union will soon begin construction of its first location in Oneonta. The new office will be located in the WellNow Plaza at 5001 State Highway 23. While Visions may be new to the Oneonta community, hundreds of residents are already members.

Fire Damages Middlefield Home

A fire severely damaged a Town of Middlefield home on Monday. Firefighters from multiple companies responded to the home off County Route 31 south of Glimmerglass State Park. Authorities say the home is a seasonal rental and was unoccupied. The fire’s origin is under investigation.

OCDOH Holding COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic On Feb 6
