A woman from Laurens is charged for letting her horses run loose last December and for animal neglect. According to the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office their investigation found the woman was not providing proper food and drink to her animals. The Susquehanna SPCA assisted the sheriff’s office with this investigation.

\Walton Man Charged With Harrasment

A town of Walton man is charged with harrasment from an Otsego County Sheriff’s Office investigation that found he was sending harassing and threatening text messages to a victim in the town of Milford. The man was booked then released on his own recognizance following arraignment.

CCSO Gets Handheld Narcotics Analyzer

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office now has a handheld narcotics analyzer. It is capable of testing about 500 substances with regular updates occurring as new narcotics emerge. The device requires no direct contact with most substances being tested, thus keeping the deputies safe.

Cooperstown Central School Hosting Leadership Training Program

Cooperstown Central School’s Annual Student-Athlete Leadership Conference begins on Friday. Approximately 300 student athletes along with their Athletic Directors representing nearly 50 school districts around Central New York will be at the day-long conference at the Clark Sports Center and the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.

Sullivan County Man Charged In Hancock Rape

A man is arraigned in coinnection with a 2021 Deleware County forcible rape inciden. Prosecutors say the man from Sullivan Coiunty is charged with Rape in the First Degree and Sexual Abuse in the First Degree. The man was denied bail and is due back in court next week.

DEC Offers Coyota Encounter Guidance

The Department of Environmental Conservation issued guidance to help prevent conflicts between people and coyotes. They recommend not keeping animal feed outside and prevent access along with compost piles. Do not allow coyotes to approach people or pets and don’t allow pets to run free.

3 Sidney residents face charges after an investigation determined the trio allowed a two-year-old to be around illegal drugs last September. All 3 are charged with felony child abuse whe one of the is charged with possesion of more than two ounces of methamphetamine with the intent to sell.

Price Chooper Sells Winning Take 5 Ticket

Price Chopper in Oneonta sold a New York Lottery Take 5 ticket worth over $36,000. According to the New York Lottery, the ticket was sold at the State Highway 7 for the evening drawing on Feb. 27. No word on if the winner has been identified.
