A woman from Maryland who pleaded guilty to federal child pornography charges will be in jail for 15 years. Prosecutors say Shelby Ortiz will be on 20 yearsof supervised release when she gets out of prison and will be required to register as a sex offender.
The Edmeston man charged last month with possessing a stolen and forged business check ends up more trouble after police say he falsely reported a man with a gun was in his home. He was booked on the new charges then released.

City of Oneonta staff identified a safety concern on the exit ramp in the Market Street Parking Garage resulting in the ramp’s immediate closure until further notice. The top level of the parking garage and the exit ramp will remain closed until repairs can be made.

The City of Oneonta’s Gardner Place Street Reconstruction project begins on Wednesday and continues thru the end of June. Gardner Place will be closed to through traffic and no on street parking will be permitted.
