Charlotte Valley CSD To Hold Capital Project Vote

Voters in the Charlotte Valley Central School District are invited to information sessions about the district’s proposed $13.3 million capital improvement project. Cooperstown COC Holding Mural Ribbon Cutting On Friday

The Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce holds a ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m. on Friday for the mural project on their Visitor Center cottage. Artist Kelcy Kimmerer created the “Welcome to Cooperstown” mural to encourage the presence of public art in the area.

Fire Destroys Stamford Auto Business

A fire on Monday destroys a Stamford automotive business. Firefighters found flames shooting from the roof of M&M Motors and immediately called for reinforcements with 11 other departments sending crews. A nearby home was evacuated as a precaution. The fire’s cause is under investigation.

Man Arrested In Oneonta Walmart Larceny

A man from Yonkers is apprehended for stealing items from Walmart in the Town of Oneonta. The arrest resulted from a complaint brought by store management. The 18-year-old was booked then released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.

Fatal Huntington Park Accident Victim Identified

Oneonta Police identify the bicyclist killed in a Huntington Park accident last week as 50-year-old Traver Brown. According to investigators Brown appears to have hit a drainage ditch, causing him to lose control and flip over the handlebars. He died at the scene.

James Cracks Down On Internet Ammo Sales

Attorney General Letitia James’ office is reporting nearly 40 internet ammunition sellers illegally shipped products to New York addresses. That violated the state’s SAFE Act which bans online sales. Cease and desist orders were issued warning the sellers of legal consequences.

Social Media Helps NYSP Catch Larceny Suspect

State Police identify the suspect wanted in a larceny at a Richfield Springs drug store. Troopers say the man stole numerous bags of wood pellets on 2 occasions last month and a social media post led to an arrest a few hours after going live.

Brush & Yard Waste Collections In Oneonta This Week

Sidewalk Pouring In Oneonta

A contractor working for the City of Oneonta is pouring sidewalks today until 5:00 p.m. Work will take place on Duane St and other locations throughout the city. Officials ask you to use caution and obey all temporary traffic control devices.
