Unofficial results are in from Tuesday’s elections, and it appears Republican Jennifer Basile will succeed her boss as Otsego County Clerk. Basile defeated Democrat challenger MacGuire Benton, with just over 58 percent of the votes in Tuesday’s election. Basile is currently the deputy county clerk. Current clerk Jathy Sinnott Gardner did not seek another term after 20 years in office. Basile says her priority will be to get a mobile DMV office up and running in Oneonta, as well as recruiting and retaining competent staff.
