Governor Kathy Hochul signed a package of bills on Monday to protect the rights of patients and empower reproductive healthcare providers. The 6 bills were passed in anticipation of a final decision by the Supreme Court on abortion access. A leaked draft opinion appeared to show the high court was repealing Roe v. Wade.
