The trial of a Deposit man accused of shooting a State Trooper is now underway. Prosecutors say Scott Mawhiney opened fire when the trooper arrived to investigate a domestic abuse call. Mawhiney was indicted on 9 charges including a 9-1-1 call that led to the trooper responding to his home.
