New York’s consumers get additional protections under 3 bills signed into law by Gov. Kathy Hochul. One is regarding abusive debt collection practices while another formids utilitiy companies to retalliate against custimers who complain. The State Public Service Commision will now have at least one member with consumer advocasy experience.
