The Deposit man accused of shooting a New York State Trooper in late June pleaded not guilty Wednesday after being indicted on 9 charges including 2 counts of attempted murder. According to investigators Scott Mawhiney opened fire on the trooper who was responding to a domestic abuse call. The trooper had surgery and is now recovering at home. Mawhiney is being held on $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.
