The results are in from “Operation Hardhat”. the state’s speed enforcement campaign conducted in work zones. Officers were dressed as road workers to catch those not obeying the reduced speed limits. Nearly 450 tickets were issued statewide but the majority weren’t for speeding – most were for handheld device use violations. Aropund 10% of tickets were for violating the Move Over Law which requires drivers to slow down or move over a lane for emergency and construction vehicles on the shoulder.
