Former Unadilla Man Takes Plea Deal In Wife’s Death

The former Unadilla man whose 2017 conviction for murdering his wife was overturned last August avoids a new trial by taking a plea deal. An appellate court tossed Casey Callahan’s trial verdict because in the court’s opinion the evidence of guilt was not overwhelming. On Monday Callahan pleaded guilty to manslaughter and will be in jail from 4 to 12 years. His original sentence was 25 to life.
