Tragedy in Otsego County over the weekend. In Plainfield, emergency crews raced to 451 County Highway 21 for the report of a house fire. 911 dispatchers received a call from someone who was driving by who reported they could see thick smoke. When fire crews arrived, they found the home already engulfed in flames. Firefighters remained at the scene all night. When they were finally able to get inside, they found one person dead. No other details are known, including what may have caused the fire in the first place.
