An Otsego County man has been arrested and jailed after an alleged arson fire in the town of New Lisbon, north of Oneonta. Sheriff’s deputies and fire investgators claim 33 year old Schuyler M. Schmidt, of Garrattsville, intentionall set fire to a garage building that belonged to a relative. The fire engulfed the building and severely damaged 13 vehicles, associated equipment, and machinery. At the time of his arrest, deputies say they also found 6 grams of methamphetamine on Schmidt’s person.)
