A man has been arrested for the theft of timber in Otsego County. In June of last year, authorities said a woman called ECO Vencak to report that someone had logged her property, but failed to pay her for the trees that were harvested. ECO Vencak contacted the DEC to conduct a stumage estimate, determining the timber was worth an estimated 8-thousand dollars. Earlier this month, the unnamed suspect was issued an appearance ticket and he has since pleaded guilty to grand larceny.
