New York Comptroller Tom DiNapoli’s office has chastised the town of Otselic for it’s bookeeping processes. Trouble began in 2021 with an audit of the town’s finances. Now three years later, a new report shows the town has met only one of the audit’s 11 recommendations to turn things around. DiNapoli’s office says the towen’s inability to implement the reccomendations “undermines confidence and accountability in the town’s finances and forgoes an opportunity to learn of future risks from an early warning system.”
