The city fo Oneonta has been selected as a bronze-certified Climate Smart Community. A Thursday news release says the city was selected by the state department of environmental conservation as one of four such cities in the Southern Tier of New York. Awards are based off of planning and implementing actions that help to reduce impacts on the environment. One project that teh DEC listed was converting streetlights to LED. Oneonta was also selected due to its Local Waterfront Revitalization Program.
