A boil water notice for the city of Norwich was finally lifted on Friday. The Chenango County Health Department implemented the notice on Wednesday for the city’s municipal water supply after routine testing showed inadequate levels of chlorine. The city said the lack of chlorine was due to equipment failure. The city confirmed that repairs had been made to the system on Friday, and that the water supply now meets minimum standards for chlorine levels. Residents may notice some discoloration coming from the tap for a few days.
