Oneonta Public Transit is installing new opioid overdose reversal medication on it’s entire fleet of OPT buses. The move comes a couple of weeks after a passenger overdosed while onboard one of the buses. Oneonta Police Chief Christopher Witzenburg discussed the idea after officers were able to revive the victim, who had lost consciousness on May 9th. All of the bus drivers will receive training on how to use the so-called ONE Boxes that contain NARCAN.
