The Oneonta Common Council’s Legislative Committee on Monday – advanced a proposal to create an ethics board that would give advisory oponions to the city on potential conflicts of interest. The item now moves to the full council for an up or down vote. There was some concern about nepotism on the board, as there is no definition of how close a family relation must be in order to be considered prohibited to serve on the board.
