Sidney To Receive Flood Mitigation Grant

The village of Sidney has been notified that it will receive a 5 million dollar FEMA grant for flood mitigation projects. Mayor Ray Baker said the project has been talked about since the 2011 floods, which complicated damage already caused in 2006. A series of culverts will be designed to redirect flood waters that previously went into the village – back into the Susquehanna River or Weir Creek.
