Also in Chenango County, a man there is facing criminal charges after a young child he was supposed to be caring for – was seriously injured. Sheriff records show Chad Buyea was arrested after the 17 month-old child’s mother told authorities that she returned home to find the child had a severely cut lip. A review of security camera footage inside the home showed Buyea using the child’s own foot to smack it in the face. The report says he was also seen covering the child’s mouth and nose for a short period of time.
