Remington Arms Blasts New York Before Leaving The Empire State

Remington Arms – going out with a bang. The Herkimer County gun manufacturer will be relocating to Georgia after 207 years. In a prepared statement, Remington praised Georgia as a state that “enthusiastically supports and welcomes companies in the firearms industry, ” the company cited production
challenges with archaic facilities. Some 300 jobs will disappear as a result of the move. The move has been condemned by the union as a “slap in the face.” UMWA, which represents 270 workers, is still urging Remington to reconsider its plans. Local Republican representatives, including state Sen. Mark Walczyk and U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik, blamed the recent decision on state policies.
