ACCO Brands To Close Sidney Plant

On the heels of the loss of about 200 jobs in Ilion, now Sidney-based ACCO Brands says it will close it’s plant by the end of next year. This will result in 300 people losing their jobs. In a prepared statement, ACCO Brands director of communications, Kori Reed – said that a recent evaluation of the business’s footprint, the difficult decision was made to close the Sidney operations entirely. No official closure date has been announced. What started as the Keith Clark Company in 1946 eventually morphed into ACCO Brands through a merger with Mead Office Consumer Products in 2012.
