On August 2, 2023, shortly before 7:00 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville were dispatched by Delaware County 911 to a report of two pedestrians struck by a vehicle on New Kingston Road in the town of Middletown. It was also reported that the vehicle did not stop.
A preliminary investigation revealed that John C. Guidice, age 68 and Joyce R. Guidice, age 67 of Middletown, NY were struck by a vehicle while on the shoulder of the road near the 800-block of New Kingston Road. Numerous lifesaving measures were performed on scene. Sadly, the efforts were unsuccessful and Joyce Guidice was pronounced deceased. John Guidice was transported to Margaretville Hospital by ambulance for what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
