On July 2, at 4:45 p.m., State Police in Pulaski responded to a UTV crash in the area of Little John Drive near Blount Mills Drive in the town of Redfield.
A 2023 Can-Am Maverick X3 side by side, operated by Charles L. Gronau Jr., age 59 from Lacona, NY was traveling northbound on Little John Drive, at a high rate of speed, when he failed to negotiate a curve and exited the western shoulder of the roadway and struck a tree.
The UTV then overturns onto the passenger side coming to rest partially ejecting the sole occupant.
Gronau was pronounced deceased at the scene.
