Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office reports state tax receipts totaled $34.4 billion through the first quarter of the fiscal year. That exceeds forecasts by $1.7 billion. DiNapoli says economic headwinds are increasing, so bolstering rainy day reserve funds on or ahead of schedule should be a priority.
