Audit Finds Too Many New Yorkers Still Without High-Speed Broadband Access

An audit by State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office finds Empire State Development’s New NY Broadband Program has fallen short of its mission to bring residents universal broadband access. The program was to make high-speed broadband service “universal” in all but the most remote areas of the state by 2018.
