The New York State Department of Health issues a report on maternal mortality. Among the findings are that 78% of pregnancy-related deaths in 2018 could have been prevented The leading causes of pregnancy-related deaths were embolism hemorrhage and mental health conditions. More than half died within 6 weeks of delivery.
