April is Distracted Driver Awareness Month and law enforcement agencies across New York will have extra patrols out this week looking for those texting and driving or using handheld cell phones while behind the wheel. Last year’s campaign resulted in nearly 35,000 tickets including close to 1,700 for distracted driving.
