Middlefield Domestic Dispute Results In Felony Charge

A domestic disoute in Middlefield on Friday results in a man arrested on a felony charge. Police say an investigation resulted in the 26-year-old from Middflefield being taken into custody for first-degree criminal contempt. Otsego County SO Participating In National Drug Take Back Day

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office will be accepting expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs at its semi-annual drug take back event on Oct. 23. Medications will be accepted between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at no charge with no questions asked. Prohibited items include sharps, needles, liquids, aerosols, and ointments. Norwich Makes Finals In DRI Grant Competition

The City of Norwich makes it into the finals round for New York’s 2021 Downtown Revitalization Initiative Grant competition. This is the same $10 million grant Oneonta won 5 years ago. Oxford Residents Want Villege To Opt Out Of Pot Sales

Several Village of Oxford residents want lawmakers to opt out of allowing recreational and medical marijuana sales. A group called “Promote Oxford Now” tells WBNG they are creating a petition asking the Board of Trustees to reverse their vote permitting sales. Siena Poll Finds Consumer Sentimant Takes Nosedive

A longtime Cooperstown pharmacy has a new owner and it’s someone who knows the business well. All Otsego reports the Church and Scott pharmacy was bought by pharmacist Rob Makofske who’s worked there since 1993. Makofske says he plans to bring in a partner soon. Walton Gets State Grant & Loan For Drinking Water Systems

The Village of Walton receives a state grant and loan for its water storage and distribution system upgrades. The $1.2 million grant and $800,000 in short-term, market-rate financing comes from the state’s Water Infrastructure Improvement program. More than $44 million was awarded statewide for drinking water and wastewater projects.
