A state historic marker in the Town of Sharon that was erected in 1936 is coming down all because of one word. According to the Times Journal the sign marking the first Lutheran congregation says it was the first in Schoharie County when it was the first in the village of Schoharie. Officials say they hope to get a corrected sign.
