Otsego County reported 23 new COVID-19 cases on Monday with the active case count at 143. 4 people are currently hospitalized. Chenango County reported 50 new COVID-19 cases on Monday with 116 active cases. 291 people are in quarantine and 6 are hospitalized. No new deaths were reported in either county.

A bat found in Cooperstown tests positive for rabies. Health Department officials say it was found last Thursday and there was no human exposure. Rabies can be fatal if not treated immediately after being exposed. State law requires all dogs, cats and ferrets to be vaccinated against rabies.
