Former Congressman Sherwood Boehlert has died at the age of 84. The Republican who represented Chenango County during his 24-year career is known for his environmental protection work including the Clean Air Act passed in 1990. A Davenport man appeared in federal court on Monday on charges he sexually assaulted a child. Prosecutors say it happened last November and the man posted a photo and video online. A one-car crash in Jefferson results in a man facing felony charges after police find a loaded assault rifle in the vehicle. Investigators say the crash happened Saturday on State Route 10 and the 22-year-old man from Jefferson also had 2 large-capacity ammunition magazines. He is due back in court next month.
